Well, if I write a post right now all the karmic energy of the entire universe will rain down retribution upon me. But I’ll do it anyway.

I’m babysitting two other little girls (baby and 3-year-old) and they are both asleep right now.

What was that? Did you hear something? [Pant, pant.] Okay, –whoa!–it’s just that I’m a little jumpy. At any moment someone is bound to wake up. Especially if I’m doing something for myself.

It’s the basic laws of children. It’s how babies know when you’ve sat down, even if you’re holding them in the exact same position, because they can feel that you’re not 100% tense and uncomfortable, maybe only 80%–

Oh, sorry, I had to run upstairs. You see, my Lilly is still awake, running amok upstairs, trying to break into [her] room where the baby is sleeping. But I tricked her into laying down in my bed, and I think she’ll be there for a minute. That’s it! That’s how to keep the other two asleep. If one is awake, they’ll somehow know that I’m not truly relaxed. And that will soothe them all afternoon. They’ll awake, refreshed. But only if I’m not.

Haha! I’ve got you figured out, kids. Don’t try any funny stuff.

"How long do you really think these books will hold me?"

Did they stay asleep for you? Are you going totally nuts with that many little ones all day? You’re a good person and mommy, AJ!

1) my kid never slept and eventually woke the baby
2) no, I did not throttle her but I thought hard about it
3) I’m not that great, she pays me!

So true, those little monsters, they DO know! But we love them anyway. They are the cutest monsters ever, even if they don’t sleep at the same time.

AJ: I am curious: in the photo of Lilly and her books, what is that stick exactly? :-)

Good observation–that’s the stick-with-a-horse-head someone gave us…but it could be anything. I’m thinking to the casual observer it’s either a mop or a beating stick. :)
