14 weeks and counting

….And counting, and counting…

When I was pregnant the first time, 14 weeks seemed like a real accomplishment. It was rumored to be the end of the first trimester, and therefore things like nausea and vomiting should cease imminently. They said some wonderful things about Trimester 2, as well, such as “energy returns!” “sex drive commences!” “feel like yourself again!” “You’ll be so cute when you start ‘showing!'”

Well, some of these things are true. But with this third time around, I know better than to be disappointed if I still feel nauseous 4 weeks from now.

A few friends from High School facebook-messaged me to say that they do love being pregnant, so guess what, folks?! They are out there. The good news is, if you’re thinking about children, you could be one of them–you could absolutely love pregnancy. It could make you feel great.

But chances are if you’re like the majority of people, you’ll feel great later. Like, say, when the baby is two, and talking up a storm, and communicative, and you have a body back.

Fourteen weeks, I acknowledge you. But I don’t have high hopes. Do your worst–I’ll still be here in 2 and 1/2 years, myself again. Whether you like it or not!

I’m currently pregnant with my first baby ( a girl! so excited) and I’m definitely wondering who these people are that love pregnancy. I’m 21 weeks and already uncomfortable when trying to sleep. I’m not looking forward to the next 19 weeks as it only gets worse from here. The only saving grace is seeing the end! Good luck to you! Hope the nausea goes away sooner for you this time!

You’re pregnant!! How wonderful. And oh my gosh, so brave. :) You’re right. It will be so crappy and hard for a while, but then you’ll have three little people and it will all be worth it. I’m so excited for you.
